The ELC administers a strict policy when hiring staff members. When hiring a new staff member, work related references and personal references are checked. Each potential employee also summits to a full criminal background check. The ELC requires all of its staff members to complete continuing education courses in the field of early childhood education. Lead teachers in each classroom have experience in the field of childcare and are passionate about positively impacting each child’s life. Every employee is a born again Christian who loves the Lord. Each employee understands the role at Lancaster is to show Christ’s love through their daily actions and lead the children to the Lord.

What is your illness policy?

To protect the health and safety of other children and staff at the ELC a child may not attend school if they have a fever of 100.5 or higher.  Students must be picked up from school if they are vomiting, have excessive diarrhea (3 or more in one day), are running a fever, or have an unknown rash.  Students also must be symptom free for 24hours or have a doctor’s note stating that they are not contagious before returning to school.

What are the ELC’s safety measures?

The ELC is concerned about providing a safe, nurturing environment for each child. Our concern for each child’s safety is evident in the design of our building, which includes a locked front door, with code access, closed circuit TV for parent and administration monitoring, secure exits, and a protective fencing system enclosing the playground. Our state-of-the-art building also includes a fire alarm system and a security system. To help ensure our children’s safety comes first, the ELC performs monthly fire drills. Our locked front door is only opened from the inside, by an ELC staff member or by a parent’s pin number. When visitors enter our building, they are accompanied by an ELC staff member the entire time they are on campus.

What kind of curriculum do you use?

Our age-appropriate curriculum is called A-Beka. A-Beka is a Christian curriculum with an educationally sound and proven program. We also use the Bright Beginnings Curriculum to engage children in learning about the Bible in an age-appropriate manner.

Is there a way for parents to get involved?

Our Parent Advisory Board  is open to all parents with children that are enrolled at the ELC.  They meet on a regular basis to discuss and organize activities and special events.  The Parent Advisory Board encourages and fosters communication, collaboration, and friendships between children, parents, and staff.  We feel that family involvement in our program is not only beneficial but also imperateive for the success of our center.
